Multidimensional Training for residents an opportunity for development

In the context of the project’s implementation, there is an urgent need for training for Svaneti residents to improve their professional skills, especially in the area of tourism. Cooperation with the local administration and the involvement of specific communities, especially women and people with disabilities, is crucial to the success of these initiatives.

Carrying out such activities will not only contribute to improving the quality of life of the region’s residents, but will also support the development of tourism at the European level. Improving the professional skills of the local community will become a key element in increasing the attractiveness of the region, which in turn will increase the number of tourists visiting the area throughout the year. In addition, the training will have a significant impact on the financial success of the economic activities carried out, strengthening the economic situation in Svaneti.

Our Goals

With the increasing demand for certification, there is a shortage of experienced locals with deep expertise. This situation is becoming a clear problem, as it negatively affects the quality of services offered.

In Svaneti, the lack of reputable hotels poses a significant challenge to the hotel industry, resulting in a shortage of quality services. Some hotels of relatively good quality are managed by professionals from large cities, but local employees at lower levels have little experience and training.

To achieve sustainable tourism development in Svaneti, it is crucial to encourage locals to participate in training and then return to their region with newly acquired skills. This not only solves the shortage of qualified personnel, but also creates a group of specialists capable of providing quality service to tourists.

In addition, a training course in tourism, hitherto unknown in this region of Georgia, is planned. We are talking about training for tourist trail markers.

Marking hiking trails by qualified professionals contributes to safety by facilitating orientation and minimizing the risk of getting lost in the field. It promotes sightseeing tourism, inspiring people to explore diverse regions. Through sightseeing education, it provides knowledge about places, their history and nature. Trail planning protects the environment, and developing tourism supports local communities, generating demand for services and creating jobs. Overall, trail marking promotes safe, educational and sustainable tourism development, highlighting the natural and cultural values of regions.
